Adventures on Sawnee Mountain Introduction

Throughout my time as a Missionary Student, I have had many moments where I felt overwhelmed, burnt out, depressed, etc. These moments, while painful at the time, have become precious memories that I would like to share with you. There is a mountain trail a few minutes away from home that I always wanted to go to, but never had the time. When I was in the worst of my burnout, I decided to check it out. What happened on that mountain changed my life! Ever since, that mountain has become a special place for me where I go to meet with God without distractions. Each time I go now, God has been faithful to work in my heart and give me rest. Additionally, He would put people in my path there who would either speak into my life exactly what I needed at the moment, or use me to do the same for others, oftentimes both at the same time. The purpose of this blog series is to show you what it looks like to go through the valleys in life in a Biblical way and to show that God is faithful even in the darkest times. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, or anything else, I pray that God will touch your heart and give you a peace that passeth all understanding.

Philippians 4:4-9

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
