Many people in this world know about Jesus, but very few people actually know who Jesus is. Is he just a man, is he just a good teacher, is he just a prophet, is he God Himself? Last year, while visiting a mosque, the security guard gave us a tour of the facility. At the end of our tour, he told us a little bit about himself and how became Muslim. He had gone to prison, and when he go out, he went on a spiritual journey. He wanted to find out about who Jesus is. Is He Lord? Is He the Son of God? Is He the Savior of the World. Then, some of his Muslim friends brought him to their mosque, and he became Muslim. He then told us that Jesus is not Lord. He is not the Son of God. He is only a prophet. Only a man. That you can’t be a Muslim without loving Jesus, but He is still just a man. He went out searching for Jesus, and was led into Islam by his friends.
If you have a similar story to this man, or you are searching for the truth of who Jesus, I would like to encourage you to follow me on this journey of discovering who Jesus truly is. He is far more than meets the eye, and in Him lies the secret of having your sins forgiven. If you are struggling to keep up with doing good works to ensure you will enter into Heaven, can I tell that there is a way for you to have peace of mind of where you will end up for eternity? The answer to your struggles is Jesus Christ. Please don’t turn away from this blog. Please don’t let what others have told you about Jesus, or the awful things people have supposedly done in the name of Jesus cause you to turn away. Please allow the Words of Jesus speak for Himself to you. He is more wondrous than you can ever imagine!!!
Jesus asked Peter, his most out spoken apostle, who Jesus was. Peter answered, saying that he was “the Christ of God”. What is interesting is that Jesus does not rebuke Peter or correct him. Rather, Jesus affirms Peter by saying the Father has revealed this to Peter. Who do you say that Jesus is?
Luke 9:18-20
18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
20 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
