April 15, 2022

This past week has been a roller coaster of emotions. Last week I was feeling burnt out and then God allowed me to meet C while hiking. Then I went to court on Thursday for my accident last year. I was sent to the wrong room, but before I went to the right room, I was able to meet a young man from South Africa who just got his citizenship here. He is catholic, but we are going to be meeting up when we both have time and he will hopefully come to Church this Easter! Meeting these two guys renewed my motivation to keep going and reaffirmed my call to missions at a time when I was doubting what I was doing. Then today, I got a call telling me that my cousin is on the ER. Despite being scared for her, God gave me peace about the situation that everything would be alright no matter what happens. Thankfully, God answered our prayers in allowing her injuries to not be as serious as it could have been!

All of these events happening in one week has been like having emotional whiplash, but I would like to encourage y’all with what God has been teaching me through this. Psalm 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Psalm 46:10 calls on us to be still. That means that we are to sink down and relax in the ocean of God’s love and peace and joy. We are to know that God is God. Despite what the world tells us, we are not gods. We are God’s. We can’t do anything in our strength, but God is faithful to provide for us and take care of us. He is our perfect Father, and He will be exalted in the Earth. His working in our lives bring glory to His name! With Easter coming this weekend, let us reflect on how because of Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection, we can be still. We can rest in that. We can rejoice in that, and find peace in that! This brings us to Romans 8:28. God takes care of those who love Him and serve Him. He redeems the evil done against them into good. This ultimately brings honor and glory and praise to his name. This is an encouraging thought that reminds us that in the midst of an ever changing world full of tragedy and sin, we can be still and rest in God! Psalm 47 tells us to not fret and delight in the Lord.

In our lives, let us take time to reflect on who God is and all the blessings He has provided for us. Let us delight in the Lord and not worry about anything. Let us remember that God is faithful and in control even in the midst of tribulation. Let us walk in the Spirit and keep running the race until Jesus comes back. Love you guys, Lord willing I’ll see y’all this Sunday!
