Last weekend, I had an accident that totaled my car. It was by God’s grace that the other driver and I were able to walk away unharmed. I’ve been studying the book of Philippians for the past month, and Philippians 4:4-8 has allowed me to remain joyful and at peace even when everything seemed to be falling apart. I was crying my eyes out in the aftermath when I realized I almost got hospitalized or killed, but when I fell back on these verses, I felt a strange calm come on me.
The reason I’m sharing this with y’all is because I want you to know that God’s peace is real and attainable. Many of us are going through difficulties right now, but we can and should rejoice in the Lord always. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to be happy all the time. Even Jesus wept for his friend Lazarus when he heard of his passing. However, it does mean casting all your cares upon the Lord and having hope in Him. It may feel hard, but casting your cares on the Lord will fill you with joy like you’ve never felt before. I love y’all, you guys are family to me!
Prayer request: Please pray that I would be able to get a new car that won’t break down on me in a few months.
